Leaf-level chlorophyll fluorescence and reflectance spectra of high latitude plants

چکیده

Abstract Little is known about the chlorophyll fluorescence spectra for high latitude plants. A FluoWat leaf clip was used to measure leaf-level reflectance and of leaves common plants examine general spectral characteristics these species. Fluorescence yield (Fyield) calculated as ratio emitted divided by absorbed radiation wavelengths from 400 nm up wavelength cut-off low pass filter (either 650 or 700 nm). The Fyield grouped into distinctly different patterns among plant functional types. Black spruce ( Picea mariana ) had little red fluorescence, which reabsorbed in shoot, but displayed a distinct far-red peak. Quaking aspen Populus tremuloides both peaks, did sweet coltsfoot Petasites frigidus ). Cotton grass Eriophorum spp. peaks were much lower than coltsfoot. Sphagnum moss spp.) peak fluorescence. Reindeer lichen Cladonia rangiferina very levels, although when damp small These vegetation samples showed wide variations shapes. values individual poorly correlated content, however strong correlation with content. variability may provide information remote sensing type also confound attempts biophysical function using solar induced (SIF).

Estimating Corn Leaf Chlorophyll Concentration from Leaf and Canopy Reflectance

Farmers must balance the competing goals of supplying contributions of background reflectance, while spectral vegetation indices that combined reflectances of near-infrared adequate N for their crops while minimizing N losses to the environment. To characterize the spatial variability of N and other visible bands (MCARI and NIR/Green) were responsive to both leaf chlorophyll concentrations and ...

Simultaneous Surface Reflectance and Fluorescence Spectra Estimation

There is widespread interest in estimating the fluorescence properties of natural materials in an image. However, the separation between reflected and fluoresced components is difficult, because it is impossible to distinguish reflected and fluoresced photons without controlling the illuminant spectrum. We show how to jointly estimate the reflectance and fluorescence from a single set of images...

Chlorophyll fluorescence emission spectrum inside a leaf.

Chlorophyll a fluorescence can be used as an early stress indicator. Fluorescence is also connected to photosynthesis so it can be proposed for global monitoring of vegetation status from a satellite platform. Nevertheless, the correct interpretation of fluorescence requires accurate physical models. The spectral shape of the leaf fluorescence free of any re-absorption effect plays a key role i...

Temperature--jump chlorophyll fluorescence induction in plants.

In contrast to slower heating rates, a temperature jump reveals complex rise phases in the heat induced chlorophyll fluorescence emission increase in intact plants. Three rise phases have been detected which indicate the stepwise loss of different quenching mechanism of system II fluorescence. Two of the phases appear to reflect heat deactivation of the system II reaction centers, while the oth...

Irrigation methods affect wheat flag leaf senescence and chlorophyll fluorescence in the North China Plain

The water resource shortage in North China Plain is an increasing threat to the sustainabilityof wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) production. A two-year field experiment was conducted toexamine the effects of two supplemental irrigation (SI) methods on wheat flag leaf senescence, chlorophyll fluorescence and grain yield. The following field treatments were conducted:no irrigation (W0); SI with 60 mm...
